I opened my first jar of huckleberry preserves from berries we picked on Mt Hood this past summer. Delicious! They have a more earthy, tart flavor than blueberry preserves.
1/4 C yellow/ brown mustard seeds, 1 t turmeric, 1/3 C beer, 1/3 C water, 1/3 C cider vinegar. Left to soak overnight, brought to a boil, cooled, and puréed in a food processor. Homemade condiments make for a great sandwich. Sauerkraut, chipotle mayo, beer mustard, and pickles.
